I knew that I had to see a Santa Maria chiropractor because of how I was sleeping. I used to be able to get by on a few hours a night if I had to, but that was back when I was in my 20s and had a lot of energy. Now that I am in my 40s, a night with just two or three hours of sleep means that my day is going to be miserable. If that happened only once or twice, it would even be okay, but I was having this happen at least once or twice a week. I was just flat out tired, and I needed help.
My doctor had suggested a sleep study test, but I had several friends who told me that a chiropractor could possibly help me too. Most of my friends do see a chiropractor at least a few times a year, but that is a trend that I had not started because I honestly felt fine up until about a month before I started having my sleepless nights. I wish now that I had listened to them, because I could have probably avoided having those nights altogether had I taken better care of my body.
I went to the same chiropractor that my best friend goes to, and it has really changed me. I finally understood why all of my friends were going, because the chiropractor explained the abuse that our bodies go through on a daily basis. He also explained how regular adjustments, or manipulations, help the body recover from the abuse. I had my first one before the appointment was over, and several more in the following weeks. My sleepless nights are a thing of the past, but my chiropractic visits are not. I am a regular patient now too.
